Ibogaine is derived from the central West African shrub Tabernanthe Iboga. It has been used for thousands of years for spiritual development, and has shown rather compelling results in treating alcohol, drug, and sex addictions. Aside from its pharmacological effect of resetting opiate receptor sites, this medicine also acts on a psycho/spirital level.

After taking the medicine, the user is able to objectively process past traumas without becoming emotionally triggered by them. This allows individuals to gain critical insights into the origins of their addiction process and to better understand their unhealthy behavior patterns.

Unlike methadone or suboxone, which lead to chemical dependency, ibogaine is non-addictive and does not need to be taken on a continual basis. Those interested in this therapy are encouraged to find a shaman or other detox healing center experienced in using this powerful plant medicine.
